Programs
TTCC offers several free programs and services specifically designed for our teens.
Free Youth Programs
-
Mentorship and Life Skills: At the core of TTCC’s mission is building meaningful relationships through mentoring. Staff and volunteers lead by example, providing guidance, social skills training, and character-building moments to help teens develop confidence and leadership.
-
Academic Support and Tutoring: In partnership with Give Every Child a Chance (GECAC), the center provides on-site tutoring from Monday through Thursday. This program offers homework assistance to help students navigate their most challenging subjects and foster independent learning.
-
Fitness and Wellness: Teens can participate in the Fitness Club, held every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM. These sessions include strength training and cardio guided by trainers, focusing on both physical health and mental well-being.
-
Specialized Clubs and Activities: The center hosts various enrichment activities, such as a Garden Club where students can learn to plant and prune, and the STEMsters program, which includes projects like building basketball launchers to combine engineering with sports.
-
Recreational Amenities: Members have access to a recreation center for gaming, hanging out with friends, and relaxing after school. There is also a cafe on-site, which occasionally offers free food events to welcome the community.
-
Vocational and Practical Skills: The center offers unique hands-on learning opportunities, including a bicycle shop for repair training and finance workshops hosted by partners like Valley Strong Credit Union to teach financial literacy.
-
Food Pantry: TTCC has teamed up with Second Harvest Food Bank to provide a food pantry specifically for its teen members and their families who may be in need.
