What is the Thomas Toy Community Center

Thomas Toy Community Center (TTCC) is a teen-based community center.  We are intentionally creating a place where teens are safe, have a sense of community, and are empowered to take ownership.

We believe that teens should have ownership of the program and help guide the activities we provide.  Embedded in every interaction and activity is an intentioinal opportunity for youth to learn in a fun and authentic way.

Social skills, life skills, and character-building moments happen all the time.  TTCC is taking the opportunity to use these moments to invest in our youth.  We hope that by serving the youth in a loving, compassionate way, we will touch the lives of not only the youth that enter our center but the lives of everyone whom our youth interact with.

Cafe

At the heart

of the center is

the cafe. The cafe is a place where teens can gather with friends, meet with a mentor or just enjoy some good food.

Activities

Whether it is hanging out in rec center, going on a trip, or joining one of our special events, each activity is designed to be engaging and provide youth with an opportunity to have fun and learn new skills.

Classes

Offering youth the opportunity to learn life skills through activities that they enjoy is the inspiration behind offering classes at the community center. They are intended to bring both enrichment and opportunity to youth.

Mentorship

Leading youth by building relationships where staff and volunteers lead by example and give encouragement and advice.

A Word To Our Teens

TTCC is a place you will want to hang out and will be filled with fun activities. That means we need to hear from you.  While we are currently in the middle of renovations and our doors are not yet open, we still want and need your help. Teens, check out our Youth Voice page or come into our temporary office at 604 Yosemite and say hello! We want the center to be the place you come to, whether you're looking for a place to hang out with friends, need help with homework, or want to explore new interests and hobbies.
